Obituary of Nancy Steiner

Nancy Miller Steiner passed away in Denver on December 15, 2016 at the age of 86. She was born on June 6, 1930 in Denver to Phillip and Ruchiel Miller, and was married to Jay Steiner until his death in 1981. Nancy was an educator and held a masters degree from the University of Denver and a PhD in Education from the University of Colorado. She taught at Metropolitan State College and later owned a business in Denver. Nancy was a pioneer as a working mother. She raised three children while getting her PhD, teaching full time, and being involved in her community. Over her lifetime she was active in a number of civic activities. She was the first female board chair of the Mountain States Anti-Defamation League and was involved with Denver Sister Cities and the Denver Art Museum. Nancy touched many lives, always thinking of and caring for others. She was kind, smart, generous, and supportive and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her three children Sally Nadel (Peter), Sue Steiner (Dilia Loe), and Bob Steiner (Andrea Mok), two grandchildren Jeff and Matt Nadel, her sister Barbara Glaser and her brother Bob Moch.
