Obituary of Esther Morris

It is with sadness that we announce the February 9th passing of Esther Morris. A Denver native, Esther was born in 1930 and grew up on the West Side and graduated from North High School. She loved school and learning all of her life. Her depth of knowledge and command of the English language were apparent the moment she spoke. She was an avid reader, gourmet chef and lover of classical music. Esther’s greatest love of all was her family and especially her husband of 48 years, Dr. Donald Morris, of blessed memory. Esther was an extraordinary matriarch of the family. She was selfless, dedicated and her wit and sense of humor were the source of much laughter and comfort during difficult times. As a gourmet cook, Esther derived great joy from cooking for her family. She poured love into every dish she prepared and had over 600 soup recipes. She baked for months for the family simchas and knew everyone's likes, dislikes and special dietary needs. She could have been a cooking show host due to her talent for making delicious culinary delights and being a hostess extraordinaire! In her later years, she had many physical limitations and suffered from chronic and unrelenting pain, Esther remained steadfast in her dedication to family. She was always there to advise and support her family in whose hearts she will live forever. The funeral was at Temple Emanuel on Sunday, February 12th followed by the interment at Emanuel Cemetery and Shiva on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. She is survived by her brother, Don Davis(Francine), her 3 children and spouses: Marty and Carol Morris, Dorothy and Hank Rosenthal and Tracy and Bob Blodgett, her 9 grandchildren: Joey, Lani, Cecilia, Jon (Katie), Eve, Michael, Kenny (Thalia), Danny and Laura (Martin) and 1 great grandchild, Donny. Zichrono livracha -- May Esther's memory be for a blessing.
