My deepest condolences to the family. I watched the funeral on YouTube. My walking is no longer steady and I was unable to attend. Your Mom was an absolutely amazing person. You were wonderful to her. I know you will really miss her!

Marilyn Shidler Kadish Bolton October 1, 1927 – July 20, 2021 Marilyn Ann Shidler was born in Denver on October 1, 1927. She was the daughter of Shirley Bloom Shidler and Harry Shidler. Her father was proud of young Marilyn, working in his dry goods store, the Golden Eagle, in Pueblo. But she would steal away and hide on the roof and in closets, reading her treasured books. Her siblings were George Shidler (deceased) of Denver and Dov Baer Sclarow, of Boca Raton, Florida. Her love of language and books carried throughout her life. Marilyn got her B.A. from the University of Colorado, where she studied literature and poetry. She married journalist and sports writer, Harvey Kadish. They were married for twenty-six years and had four children, Marilyn was a Librarian and taught at Carson Elementary School before getting her Masters of Library Science at the University of Denver. Marilyn was the Acquisitions Librarian for Jefferson County and later became the Head Librarian at the newly constructed Villa Italia branch of Jefferson County Libraries. Marilyn was staunchly against censorship and brought home the censored books for her kids to read and then requested that they report back their thoughts. Marilyn found a second love of her life in Otto Bolton. The Kadish children cherished and deeply loved Otto. The couple had a map of the world with pins in it denoting all the countries they visited. It was clear they had covered much of the globe. Sadly, Otto passed away in 2000. For nearly thirty years, Marilyn and Otto split their time between Palm Springs and Denver. Otto and Marilyn loved the desert landscape as much as the Rocky Mountains Marilyn enjoyed lively intellectual discussions and organized book and play groups, and she especially loved discussing foreign and art films. Marilyn loved beauty and possessed a unique artistic expression in her home décor and in her clothing and jewelry. Though the world hadn’t totally caught up yet, she adopted feminist and progressive values and fiercely fought for passage of Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970’s. Marilyn was also a proponent of Esperanto as a universal language for international communication and peace. Her loved ones are relieved that her suffering is finally over – though now, living without her, theirs has only begun. Marilyn is survived by her three children. Kenny (Elisa) Kadish of Atlanta, Rona Kadish (Rich Turk) of Lone Tree and Laurel Kadish (nicknamed Candy) of Oakland. She is predeceased by her son Craig Marshall Kadish who passed away in 2020. Marilyn leaves two grandchildren, Harlan (Hillary) Kadish, of Silver Spring, Maryland and Joel Kadish of Atlanta. Marilyn also leaves two great-grandchildren Elijah and Asher Kadish of Silver Spring, Maryland. Marilyn also survived by six nieces and nephews. Marilyn is also predeceased by her step-son William (Bill) Bolton. The family wishes to thank Bill Geller, Barbara Swing and Irelma Vega from “Home Instead” for their never-ending love and companionship during the final years of Marilyn’s life. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
