Obituary of Linda Nell Greenwalt
Linda Nell Greenwalt was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA by the late Aaron and Doris Bogomolny. Her family owned an orthopedic shoe store on Broad Street and they lived above the business. She enjoyed the city life and In her younger years, Linda was a ballet dancer performing at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. She maintained her dancer’s grace and elegance throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Randall Greenwalt. They first met in Carlisle, PA while Randy was on the faculty at the Army War College. After marrying, they created their very own “Brady Bunch” blended family of six children.
Soon after their marriage, Randy’s military career took them across the globe over the next 4 years. They were stationed in Berlin, Germany and the Soviet Union. During their time abroad Linda was the consummate hostess, charming foreign dignitaries of Europe. They later returned to the United States and were stationed in Washington D.C.
Being in the states allowed Linda to spend more time with her grandchildren. She adored all babies but had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Linda was devoted to taking care of her family, cooking them special meals and making sure that they were happy. Her outgoing personality and quick laugh made her many, many lifelong friends.
In addition to taking care of her family, she also spoiled numerous lucky dogs over the years. Being Linda’s dog guaranteed a life of unending love, home cooked breakfast and long walks. In retirement, Linda and Randy moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Linda embraced the active lifestyle, spinning classes and enjoying outdoor hikes. She also generously volunteered at a local elementary school and the children absolutely adored her.
In addition to her husband, Linda is also survived by her daughters Ami Levin (Anne), Jill Gobin (Mark) and Laura Longsworth. Sons Jason Levin (Sarah) and Michael Greenwalt (Suzanne). Grandchildren Kelsey Pauley (Matt), John Hunt (Katie), Destiny Levin (Jayson), Aaron Levin, Grant Greenwalt, Greta Greenwalt, Benjamin Greenwalt, Elsa Greenwalt, Cameron Greenwalt and Evan Greenwalt. Great grandchildren Grayson and Wrenleigh Claire Pauley. She was predeceased by her son Stephen Greenwalt.
Linda’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her dear friends and caregivers, Christina, Victoria, Dana and Sandy. A special thank you to Emily, whose warmth and dedication always brightened her day and provided her with such wonderful care over the years. The family is deeply appreciative of the compassion shown by the staff at Porter Hospice Residence.
At Linda’s request, no services will be held. Anyone wishing to honor Linda’s life may make a donation to the American Stroke Association or Humane Colorado.
