Dearest Rudnick family, we grieve with you Michael’s loss. His was a vital spirit, embracing many passions, an enthusiastic raconteur with a big, infectious and endearing laugh. His warm personality drew so many close. He and Ros were our first friends in Denver. Although we have moved away, when we think of our Denver community there will always be a space we hold for Michael, how his ebullient personality filled our hearts and warmed our souls whenever we encountered him, or when we bring him to mind even now. Holding all of you in our hearts Rael, Lorraine, Natasha and Elan and families San Diego USA/Auckland NZ

From the first time Michael and I sat down to write together it was clear that our brains did not not let the fact that they were each in a different skull get in the way of our communication . Whether it was an episode of Thirty Something or a funny or serious article for SAJAC magazine or some philosophical opinion piece or just a restaurant review we jumped onto each others words and phrases with never ending delight laughter and sometimes tears. When the Rudnicks moved to Denver we vowed that a minor detail like physical distance would not get in the way. However despite our sincere attempts daily life, work, family encroached little by little until weeks and even months passed between our phone calls . We did spend a lot of time light heartedly blaming each other for this but always under the delusion that there was always tomorrow .
