Obituary of Charles F. Zwerdlinger
Chuck was born on November 19, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York. As part of a military family, he spent his childhood moving between New York, Ohio, and Colorado.
He earned his undergraduate degree in teaching from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. He went on to become a dedicated and proud educator, allowing countless children to learn the importance of hands-on craftsmanship during his 17-year woodshop teaching career. During his time as an educator, he also coached the wrestling teams at the school.
Outside of the classroom, Chuck was a passionate woodworker and craftsman, known for his attention to detail and love of creating with his hands. One of his greatest joys in recent years was playing board games and discussing model rockets with his grandson, Levi.
Chuck is survived by Lynn Zwerdlinger; his children Jacob Zwerdlinger and Molly Zwerdlinger (Aaron); his grandson Levi; and his siblings Dr. Lisa Zwerdlinger (Jeff) and Dr. Steven Zwerdlinger. He was preceded in death by his parents Selma and Jack Zwerdlinger.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Golden Hill Cemetery, 12000 West Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO 80215.
In Chuck's memory, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Denver Tool Library and American Diabetes Association.
