Obituary of Carol Leimas

Carol Leimas, daughter of Reuben and Lillian and sister of Donald and Robert, passed away peacefully on August 10th at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born on September 12, 1931 in Queens, New York.  She grew up in Queens and Port Chester before attending Syracuse University where she graduated in 1952.  After living in Paris for a year, she moved to Manhattan where she lived until she moved to Denver in 2020. She was married to her loving husband Irwin Leimas for 51 years.

Carol focused her career on women’s issues, including working for the American Association for University Women for almost two decades. She enjoyed attending United Nations women’s conferences across the world.

Carol is survived by her daughter Stacie Hochstadt, son-in-law Jeff Hochstadt, and adoring grandchildren, Julia, Zoe and Madeline.

A graveside service will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, at 1:45pm at Emanuel Cemetery within Fairmont Cemetery.  A livestream of the service will be available on Feldmann Mortuary's Youtube channel.    

Shiva will be held at Stacie and Jeff’s home on Monday and Tuesday from 6pm - 8pm.
