Obituary of Barbara Pred

Barbara Jean Pred, 72, passed away peacefully with family by her side in the early hours of Sunday, August 24^th after succumbing to an aggressive case of Adenocarcinoma Lung Cancer.   A beloved wife, mother, sister, cousin, aunt, nana, and friend, Barbara is survived by her son Josh, her stepdaughter Rory, her husband Ron, her brother Bruce, her niece Sami, her nephew Joe, her grandniece Caceres, her grandpups Pumbaa and Harry, and numerous cousins and their families.

Barbara was born on April 22, 1953 in Keenesburg, Colorado to Raymond and Darlene "Dolly" Kauffman.  She was raised on the family farm in Keenesburg and spent time in Denver and San Diego as an adult while working for a law firm and a commercial real estate investment group.  She married her husband Ron on June 9, 1991, and they had one son together, Josh. 

Barbara was a tireless caregiver.  She nursed her mother Dolly through two arduous but successful battles with breast cancer and her husband Ron through a successful battle with multiple myeloma, all while simultaneously being the most loving, caring and devoted mother her son Josh and stepdaughter Rory could have ever asked for.

In her free time Barbara loved traveling, exercising, golfing, gardening, skiing, reading, cooking, trying new cuisine, watching sports, taking care of her pets, exploring nature, and spending time with loved ones.  Her warmth, compassion and quick wit will be dearly missed and impossible to replace.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 28^th at 1:30 pm at Temple Emanuel.  A livestream and an event recording will be made available via Feldman Mortuary’s YouTube channel.

Memorial gifts in Barbara’s honor may be made to The American Cancer Society, Humane Colorado, Temple Emanuel and The Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
