Obituary of Cherrie Richards
Cherrie Richards, youngest sister of Robyn Loup and Laurie Glick, passed away July 7, 2025 at the age of 76.
Cherrie was born in Denver to Betty Jeanne (Miller) of Colorado and Arthur Olsen of New York in 1949. She was the youngest of three girls and grew up in the Montclair neighborhood behind the Richtofen Castle. Cherrie was an athletic, artistic, and wonderfully rebellious child who grew to love most things colorful and bright. Her wardrobe itself was a piece of art, she was well-known for the jewelry she made, the afghans she knitted, and her hand-painted pottery.
Cherrie was a hopeful and happy person who laughed a lot and always gave energy and love to others freely. Her three children were precious to her and her home was always open to her nieces and nephew.
Her passion for color and finding beauty around her was key to her positive attitude even in the face of her decades-long battle with cancer.
One can only hope that her firm belief that we will meet the ones we love again after death is true.
Cherrie was preceded in death by her husband Terry Richards (2023). She is survived by her children; Josh (Margaret) Cusack, Molly (Gustavo) Joseph, and Michelle (Ben) Martin; Grandchildren Jordan, Liam, and Gabriel; sisters Laurie (Jerry) Glick, and Robyn Loup; nieces and nephew, and her best friend Kitty Ried.
