Obituary of Ellie Warren

Eleanor “Ellie” Warren had a wonderful 93rd birthday celebration on December 1, 2025, surrounded by her family, caregivers, and all her friends at the Acoya Assisted Living facility. She was so happy and grateful. Then she did it her way…..On December 4, 2025, she passed away peacefully in her home with her favorite music playing: Frank Sinatra and Holiday music while having her kids by her side.

Ellie was the daughter of Denver natives, Saul and Naomi (Janowitz) Pasternack, making her a proud 2nd-generation Denver native. Thinking she would be an only child – SURPRISE -13 years later arrived a baby sister, Judi. (Of Blessed Memory)

Ellie grew up on the Denver ‘West Side’ and attended North High School. Her father owned Pasternack’s Pawn Shops, and it was a household name. The family had deep connections and roots in the Denver Jewish community. One pawn shop still exists on East Colfax today.

Ellie met Daniel Warren, an extremely handsome basketball star going to DU. When she finished high school, and he graduated from DU, they were married. They were an exquisite couple, Ellie being the stylish beauty and Daniel, the blonde, all-American-looking athlete. They owned several local restaurants, the last one being The Spice Of Life. Ellie was a trendsetter and worked in the restaurants at a time it was not the vogue for women to work. Together, they raised two children, Mark and Wendy.

After Daniel’s untimely death in his 40s, Ellie met the second man to share her life, Keith Peetz, former owner of H.W. Moore Equipment Company. They spent their time together traveling, being with friends, going to their 2nd home at Lake McConaughy in Ogallala, NE, and arguing about politics. They had a wonderful life for over 27 years until he passed away.

In Ellie’s later years, she lived a full, active life and made sure not to miss her grandkids' activities and was always there for her family. She loved reminiscing and sharing stories about her family history, her life, and all her fabulous experiences. And what great and interesting stories they were!

Ellie always looked beautiful and perfectly put together with her styled hair, long painted nails with a theme or seasonal design. She also loved the Broncos, Nuggets, and watching sports.

Ellie was a strong and true survivor. She kept pushing through and overcoming cancer and other health obstacles. She lived life with a smile and a positive attitude. Her zest for life was undeniable. She lived a long and wonderful life and, as she said, “with no regrets”.

Ellie is survived by her children, Mark (Olga) Warren, Wendy (Bruce) Glazer; grandchildren Steffan Warren, Daniel (Kimberly) Warren, Shayna Glazer, David Glazer, Polina Opolyar-Warren, Nikolas Opolyar-Warren; great-grandchildren Hunter and Juniper.
