Obituary of Shirley Polokoff
Shirley Polokoff “Gaga”, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on December 20. She was 95. Born in Denver, Colorado, in 1930, she was the daughter of Sonia and Max Levitt.
In 1949, she married Gerald Polokoff, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Together they raised three daughters while living in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, before returning to Denver to continue building their life and family. In 1973, Mrs. Polokoff moved with her husband to Southern California, where they lived for seventeen years. In 1988, they relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, which remained her home for the rest of her life. Mrs. Polokoff was a lifetime member of B’nai B’rith and was deeply committed to her Jewish faith, which guided her values and remained an important part of her identity throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sonia and Max Levitt; her husband, Gerald Polokoff; and her grandson, Matthew Neumann. She is survived by her three daughters, Stefanie Neumann (Gary), Andi Leopoldus (Bob), and Robin Patterson (Gary); five grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
