Obituary of Margaret Cunningham

Margaret Ryan Cunningham passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 2, 2026, following a day spent visiting with her loved ones. Meg was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Tracy and sister Mary Lou. Meg was a loving mother to Ryan (Victoria) Cunningham, and a cherished grandmother to Allie (Britt) and Lauren Cunningham and Molly (Matt) Goloback. She was also a proud “Aunt Meg” to Ryan and Ollie Goloback and sister to Judy Meyer.

Meg was born on December 24, 1933, in Peoria, Illinois. While she grew up in Illinois, her heart really resided in the upper peninsula of Michigan where her family summered every year. She attended the University of Illinois Champagne-Urbana, and then spent most of her 20s as a flight attendant for United Airlines. Upon moving to Denver, she started her family and was a stay at home mother for many years. During this time she also helped raise her beloved “first granddaughter” Molly. She later became a volunteer at the Denver Art Museum and Saint Joseph's Hospital.

She dedicated the next 18 years to raising her twin granddaughters, allowing both of their parents to work full time. Many hours were spent in her 2004 Honda Civic shuttling kids to school, soccer practice, and choir rehearsal. She was a cherished confidant, and her granddaughter's biggest cheerleader in all they did.

Known for her dry wit, steadfastness, and sweet tooth, she was deeply devoted to her family, who will miss her dearly.

Memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Feldman Mortuary followed by a reception.
