Obituary of Billy Horwitz
William “ Billy” Horwitz, a devoted husband, father, Zaidy, and proud veteran, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28th, in California, with his wife by his side. His life was defined by love and loyalty to his family.
Born in Denver, Colorado, on the Jewish Community’s “West Side”, with a quiet determination and a generous spirit, Billy attended North High School and served honorably in the United States Navy. After completing his service, he built a long and respected career in banking, where colleagues knew him as steady, thoughtful, and unwaveringly fair.
Outside of work, Billy found joy in the simple pleasures that made life rich. He was an avid golfer who relished early tee times and the camaraderie of the course and his friends. He loved to travel with his wife and did so extensively across the world. He was a lifelong Lakers fan, cheering with equal parts passion and optimism through every season. But nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his family.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Diana, the love of his life and his partner in all things. He leaves behind his sons David and Steven, his daughters Anu and April, and his treasured grandchildren Dilan, Jalen, Nora, and Nathan, each of whom brought him immeasurable pride and joy.
He will be remembered for his humor, his steady presence, and the way he made every person he loved feel supported. William’s legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the stories he shared, and the deep love he gave.
