Obituary of Barry H. Silvestain
Barry H. Silvestain, 72, died on March 17 after a valiant fight with cancer.
Barry was born in Denver, Colorado, to Phyllis and Bennie Silvestain, of blessed memory. He grew up in a loving home with his three siblings, Jay, Michael, and Cheryl, and attended elementary school in Denver before his family moved to Huntington Beach, California, during his teenage years. There, Barry fell in love with the beach and with body surfing. Midway through high school, the family returned to Denver, where Barry graduated from Lakewood High School.
After graduation, Barry attended his first year at the University of Denver and completed his degree at the University of Colorado Denver. He went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and joined his father and partner, Steve Wenner z''l, at Wenner Silvestain and Company, a well-known and highly respected CPA firm in Denver for many years.
Barry found and married the love of his life, Regina, in 1984. Together they built a beautiful family and raised Troy David, Rachel, and Steven. His number one priority was always his family, and he built deep and meaningful relationships with each of his children.
As Troy David said, Barry was born to be a grandfather. He doted on and adored his two grandchildren, Kyle and Avery, and they absolutely adored their grandfather in return who they affectionately called "G".
Barry was deeply proud of his long and established career, found great enjoyment as an avid golfer, and gave back to his community by volunteering his time and energy with Jewish Family Service of Colorado.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his warmth, his humor, and the love he gave so generously to those around him.
Barry is survived by his wife Regina Silvestain; his children Troy David (Cori) Silvestain, OH, Rachel Silvestain, and Steven (Sarah) Silvestain; his siblings Jay (Donna) Silvestain, Michael (Carol) Silvestain, and Cheryl Sanders; and his grandchildren Kyle and Avery.
Service, Friday March 20, 11:00am, Temple Emanuel, 51 Grape Street. A livestream will be available on Feldman Mortuary's YouTube Channel.
