Obituary of Kevin Flynn
Kevin Flynn, loving husband to his wife, Connie, for nineteen years, and devoted brother,
father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 20, 2026, after a valiant
fight with cancer. He died as he lived, in kindness, patience, and good humor, with a warm smile and an easy laugh. Content with himself.
Kevin was born on May 20, 1950, to Mildred "Millie" and William "Packy" Flynn in
Longmont, Colorado. He was raised on farms east of Longmont with his two brothers and
his sister. He grew up caring for animals, riding horses, and operating farm equipment. He
also enjoyed visiting with his extended family members who lived close by, especially his
grandma and grandpa Powell.
In 1968 Kevin graduated from Longmont High School. After graduation, while helping build
a house in Hygiene, he became enthralled watching a backhoe operator dig a trench. He
knew that was what he wanted to do. He soon went to work for Braly and Company, and his
dream of operating heavy equipment came true.
In 2002 Kevin and his brother Shawn started Rocky Mountain Maintenance, LLC, a
landscape maintenance company in Vail, Colorado. Kevin lived to work. His passion
continued through his retirement years as he generously shared his broad expertise with
family, friends, and neighbors.
Kevin was a very humble member of, and mentor in, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Al-
Anon. It was in AA that he'd found the God of his misunderstanding. He turned his will and
his cares over every day to a loving, caring, supportive Higher Power much greater than
himself, whom he called God. God loved him and welcomed him with open arms, with
compassion and understanding. Kevin celebrated forty-six years of sobriety and always
reached out to support others. He continued to meet with his mentor and other twelve-step
members until the end of his life.
Kevin was blessed by two children: his daughter, Stephanie, and his son, Klint. Kevin loved
being a dad, a grandpa, and a great-grandpa. He was always ready with a listening ear, an
eager smile, or a good story. Family was Number One to Kevin. He always made time for
them.
He will be remembered for his loyalty, kind heart, and sense of humor, and for his helping
and caring for others.
Kevin is survived by his wife Connie; son Klint (Kaitie); brothers Jim (Khileen) and Shawn
(Dana), sister Maureen; grandchildren Santanna, Kamden, and Judy; great-granddaughter
Amaya; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his daughter
Stephanie.
Mass will be held on April 9th at 10:30am at St Francis Assisi Catholic Church (3791 Pike Rd, Longmont, CO 80503) followed by a reception. Inurnment to follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory (14241 N 107th St, Longmont, CO 80504)
