Obituary of Hannelore Schatz
Hannelore Schatz, 93, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2026, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was born December 2, 1932, in Berlin, Germany. Escaping Nazi Germany as a young child, she lived her life in New York, New Jersey, and Colorado.
She was the loving wife of Daniel Schatz; mother of Janyce and Charles; grandmother of Leigh and Andrew; great-grandmother of Owen, George, Bennett, and Rose; mother-in-law of Bruce, Michael, Natalie, and Meleah.
Hanne attended Cornell University. Her passion for helping children led her to be a CASA representative. She was a member of NCJW. Her husband, who was a marathon runner, introduced her to running and she enjoyed participating in local races in New Jersey. She and Dan traveled far and wide, often accompanied by friends. An avid reader, she had her most current book at her bedside.
Hanne loved her family and enjoyed celebrating all the holidays. Maintaining a close circle of friends in South Orange, New Jersey, and more recently in Colorado, they all loved her understated and easy-going manner. We want to thank all of her wonderful caregivers for their love and dedication, most especially Jung, Wind Crest Home Support, and the Bristol Hospice team.
Service, Thursday, April 16th, 11:30AM, Feldman Mortuary Chapel; Interment, Fort Logan National Cemetery.
