Obituary of Todd Adlai Goldberg

Todd Adlai Goldberg passed away on April 7, 2026, after a valiant battle with metastatic melanoma.  His beloved husband of 26 years, Ewie, and his family were by his side.  He was 60.

Adlai had an extraordinary 30-year consulting career, more than 25 of which were spent at Ernst & Young, where he was a partner.  A distinguished leader in the field of digital transformation and innovation, particularly within the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, Adlai was at the forefront of shaping and enhancing the digital landscape for global pharmaceutical clients. Known for his thoughtful leadership, innovative thinking, and compassion, he achieved not only successful outcomes but earned the trust and respect of colleagues and clients alike.  With unmistakable joy and self-effacing grace, he lifted others, pushed his teammates to grow, celebrated different perspectives, and built strong relationships wherever he went.  As one colleague recently said, “he lit up every room he entered.”

Much of Adlai’s career was spent overseas.  He worked across Asia for 17 years, five years in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and more than five years in Europe before returning to the United States.  Prior to his stint in Switzerland, he developed a 70-person consulting team in Ukraine and helped grow teams in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.  Beyond his consulting prowess, he was also widely respected for his innovative and creative capabilities, at one time leading one of EY Asia’s largest creative services teams.  Respected and honored by colleagues around the world, Adlai was known for his leadership, compassion, humility, joie de vive, and decency.

Born in Denver on July 14, 1965, Adlai attended Graland Country Day School and then Phillips Exeter Academy.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Metropolitan State College in Denver before earning his MBA in Marketing and Real Estate from Southern Methodist University.

When Adlai wasn’t traveling for work, he was traveling – camera in hand - with the love of his life, Ewie Kusnadi.  They met in 2000 in Jakarta, were married in Bali in 2004, and again in New York in 2015.  Together, they visited more than 100 countries, immersing themselves in different cultures and communities and celebrating the magnificence of the planet.  And they made friends everywhere they went.  Their final adventure was to Africa last September – with a visit to Madagascar, the Seychelles and – bucket list dream – Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, which they successfully summited.

In addition to Ewie, Adlai is survived by his parents, Chuck and Honey Goldberg, his brother Greg Goldberg (Vikki), sister, Dianna Goldberg May (Craig), all of Denver, and friends all over the globe.
