Obituary of Jacqueline Eisenbaum

Jacqueline “Jackie” Ruby Eisenbaum (Cantor) was born June 13, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY to Julius and Beatrice (“Bea”) Cantor, their only child. She grew up in Long Beach, Long Island, NY after her parents bought The Cozy Nook restaurant in the 1940’s. She spent many years helping out at the Cozy, as they called it.

She graduated from Long Beach High School in 1954. She married Sidney Eisenbaum on June 15, 1958. She and Sidney moved to the Washington, DC area, where he attended medical school, and Jackie worked as a bookkeeper at The Washington Post. There they welcomed their first child, Pamela. Because Sidney was drafted into the military during medical school, the family moved to Ft. Dix, New Jersey, where they welcomed Michael into the family. The next move was to the Presidio in San Francisco, where they welcomed their third child, Jerel. They moved back to Long Island while Sid was deployed overseas, and then to Silver Spring, MD, where their fourth child, Andrea, was born. Soon after, the family moved to Denver, where Jackie resided from then on. When Sidney went into private practice a few years later, Jackie became the office manager. Years later, after a divorce from Sidney, Jackie became Volunteer Coordinator at the Denver Aquarium.

Those who knew her described her as kind, authentic, loving, and supportive. Jackie was a gem to all who had the privilege of spending time with her. She loved her family and was passionate about animals, especially the many dogs and cats that were part of the family.

Jackie is predeceased by her parents, Julius and Beatrice Cantor. Jackie was the mother of Pamela (Mark George) Eisenbaum, Michael (Lorma) Eisenbaum, Jerel Eisenbaum, Andrea Eisenbaum; grandmother of David, Nina, Ethan, Matthew and Sarah Eisenbaum, Quinn (Kathleen) Lockhart, and Ryan Martindale-George; and great-grandmother of Madison Weber, Kilani Arrieta, Skylar George, Adeline Eisenbaum; ex-wife of Sidney Eisenbaum.
