Obituary of George Brew Sr.
George Brew Sr., 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Broomfield, Colorado on May 8, 2026.
Born in New York to Anne Denise and Thomas Conway Brew, George spent his early years growing up in Garden City, New York before eventually heading west to build both his career and his life. Though he made Colorado home, he never lost the spirit and character of his New York roots.
George will be lovingly remembered by his children, Michelena (Chris), Stephanie (Adam), and George Jr. (Karly), along with his cherished grandchildren, Orion, Leo, and Baby Brew. He is also survived by his beloved twin sister, Rura, and siblings Denise, Connie, and Jimmy. George was preceded in death by his siblings Ricky and Micky.
His family was his greatest pride, and the values he instilled in them: kindness, empathy, loyalty, humor, and resilience will continue to live on through each of them.
George found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He loved spending time outdoors, getting lost in a good history book, and cheering on The Nebraska Cornhusker football team through every season. He had a sharp wit and an unmistakable sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, but it was his kindness and compassion that truly left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. His memory will live on in every shared story, every laugh, every act of kindness, and every perfectly timed joke.
Celebrations of George’s life will be held in both Colorado and New York, with details to be announced at a later date.
