Obituary of Linda Lasker

Linda Lasker (fka Silverberg) of Rancho Mirage, CA, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and unwavering positivity.

Born October 5, 1936, in Little Rock, AR, Linda moved to Denver after marrying Bob Silverberg (of blessed memory), where they created a life together and had three children. Later on, she moved to Rancho Mirage, CA, where she began living life on her own terms.

Linda always had a captivating charm and warmth to her. She lived a life defined by grace, resilience, and a genuine desire to become the best version of herself. She approached each day with optimism and gratitude, believing that every challenge (of which she had more than her fair share of!) was an opportunity for growth, and that every person deserved sympathy and understanding. She always had an exuberant smile, encouraging words, and boundless energy. Friends, family and even strangers were drawn to her uplifting spirit.

She cherished her children and her companion above all else, and took great joy in celebrating their successes and supporting them through difficult times.

Linda is survived by her adoring companion of twenty years, Bernard Surgil (Rancho Mirage, CA), her devoted daughter, Diane Silverberg Jarbawi (Steve Miller), (Denver, CO), her precious son, Bill Silverberg, and the exceptionally caring Maddox family, Greg, Jackie, Haley, Chelsey, Greg Jr., Andre, and Salem (Thousand Oaks, CA), her granddaughter Jennye Jarbawi (Encinitas, CA), her sisters Harriet Katz (Harrisburg, PA), and Dana Robinson (Palm Beach, FL). She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert “Robbie” Silverberg, Jr., and her parents, Harry and Emily Lasker.

While we mourn Linda’s passing, we also celebrate a beautiful life well lived. Her example reminds us to face life with hope, to never stop learning and growing, and to share love freely with others. Her light and radiance will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Braille Institute Coachella Valley Center or a charity of your choice.
