Obituary of Dale Charles Hoeft, Jr.

Dale Charles Hoeft, Jr., of Denver, died June 5, 2026, at the age 56, as a result of his life-long cardiac ailments.

Dale was the Husband of Kate Hoeft; Father of Ryan Hoeft and Dalilah Hoeft; Son of Arlene (the late Dale) Hoeft; Brother of Tim (Becca) Hoeft, Laurie (Steve) Hitz, Suzanne (Gary) Skoczynski, and the late Dan (Cheryl) Hoeft; Uncle of Marley, Chloe, Cassy, Ethan, Emily, Sammie, Jacque, Elizabeth, Evan, and Grace.

Dale was raised in Niles, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He was the youngest of five. Dale’s passion for adventure and exploring started early. He was exceptionally gifted when it came to math, drafting and design. His innate talents brought him to earning Associate Degrees in General Science and in Engineering from Oakton Community College, Des Plaines, Illinois, in 1991. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign in 1995.

Dale’s career fostered his desire for adventure and exploration. He had the opportunity to work for many exceptional companies; NASA, Disney and Time Warner Cable, to name a few. Dale also had a love for music, family and travel. Those combined passions led to Dale meeting his wife, Kate. Immediate sparks flew on July 14, 2001, when Dale and Kate were introduced. Despite the physical distance of their homes, Dale and Kate’s hearts were forever entwined. They were married in Hawaii in May 2007. They welcomed their son Ryan into the world in September 2008 and their daughter Dalilah in May 2010.

Dale was such a proud father. He helped to coach his sons baseball teams, he mentored his kids in math and occasionally taught science in the kids school. He was an enthusiastic dance dad, a trusted friend, and a loving husband. He loved to support his children in all of their special games and events. Dale also shared his love for music and travel with Kate and the kids. So many outdoor concerts, festivals and trips across the world were shared. Dale always made time for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 3:00 pm, at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church; 1980 Dahlia St, Denver, CO 80220.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged in Dale’s memory to the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association.
