Obituary of Bette Kal

Bette Jean Kal, Denver; Wife of the late Harold "Kelly" Kal; Mother of Sherri (Stephen) Weinstein, Dan (Kelly) Kal, and Marilyn (Tim Brown) Kal-Hagan; Sister of Karen (Billy Kinneer) Bucher and the late Jim (Marcia) Lee; Grandmother of Devin and Stacey Weinstein, Lesley Kal, Samantha (Justin) Hermes, Hayley Kal, Kelli (Michael) Genova, and Bradley Kal Hagan; Great-grandmother of Maxwell, Grayson, and Caroline.

Bette was born in Yankton, SD to Maurice and Beatrice Lee on January 9, 1929, and was the oldest of three siblings. She moved to Denver after one year of college, where she met Harold “Kelly” Kal. They married in 1952 and raised three children together.

Bette was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and her family was her primary focus, along with the many friends she cherished. After her children were grown, she worked with Kelly until his death in 1982 and continued to work in the flooring business with her son until her retirement.

Known for her elegance and impeccable sense of style, Bette always took pride in her appearance and enjoyed fashion. Whether attending family gatherings, social events, or simply going about her day, she was invariably well dressed, gracious, and put together.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed listening to music, playing card games, being with relatives and friends, and traveling. Bette will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
