Obituary of Roberta Theodoran
Roberta Reva Saliman Theodoran passed away suddenly at the age of 94 on September 12, 2026, in Studio City (Los Angeles), California.
Born on August 19, 1932, in Denver, Colorado, to Lillian and Julius Saliman, Roberta grew up with a deep appreciation for family, community, and her Jewish heritage, proud throughout her life that her father and her grandfather, Sam, were among the co-founders of the Hebrew Educational Alliance in West Denver. At just age 10, Roberta experienced one of the greatest trials of her long life: she was diagnosed with polio, then a merciless scourge of children and adults alike, and was hospitalized for many months. She was very blessed to have been chosen to receive the so-called “Sister Kenny Treatment,” a then-experimental, intense, physiotherapy-based intervention that allowed young “Berta” to make a complete recovery. She later attended North High School (now Denver North) and, as most women of her generation, married shortly after high school. Roberta became a homemaker and happy mother, welcoming daughter Faryl and son Chad. Roberta was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society throughout the 1960s and 1970s, honored as Denver’s ACS Faith Chapter Volunteer of the Year in 1970.
When her marriage ended in divorce, Roberta went to work at Neusteter’s department store, later working for Bellco Credit Union, Dillard’s department store, and Macy’s. In 1977, Roberta met the love of her life, Constantine “Dino” Theodoran, and they were married in 1985 while Dino was a Disaster Loan Officer for the Small Business Administration. Their marriage was filled with love, joy, travel, and companionship, with Dino and Roberta even working together at Bellco, Dillard’s, and Macy’s. When Dino passed away in December 2015 due to lung cancer, Roberta moved to Los Angeles to be close to her children and grandchildren, the loving focus of her life in her later years.
In addition to “Doc” Faryl and Chad, Roberta is survived by grandchildren Lillian “Rosie”, Thomas and Nicholas, and stepdaughter Constance Perenyi. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her beloved sister Shirley Snyder, and her darling Dino.
