Obituary of Gary D. Levine

Gary D. Levine of Denver died unexpectedly, Friday, October 20th in Aurora, Colorado. Gary was born to Darcy and Howard Levine August 31st, 1952 in New York.  Gary attended Lawrence High School, and then went to Eastern Montana College where he met his wife, Connie.  Gary and Connie moved to Denver where Gary attended the University of Denver and graduated with a business degree.  He began his career in banking shortly thereafter at OmniBank, then KeyBank until 1997 when he transitioned to the CEO of Merchants Mortgage & Trust Corporation until 2016.  He then served as the Chairman of the Board until his retirement in 2021.

Gary was passionate about his family, golf, and philanthropy.  If he wasn’t with family or on the golf course, you would find him playing cards with his friends. Gary will be remembered for his warm and genuine smile, his dry sense of humor, his generosity, and his hard work ethic.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Connie Levine. His adoring children Amy (Justin) Land and Whitney (Joe) Radzis. He was a doting grandfather to Carson & Hayden Land and Skylar & River Radzis. Gary was predeceased by his parents Darcy and Howard, and his brother Jeffrey.
