Friday, March 10, 2023
I just saw this obituary. My name is Beth Herzog. I’m the daughter of Jane Carter Poucel.
My mother loved yours.
Jane passed in 2015 and after the passing of her husband JG I’m inheriting a piece of art Carol gave to Jane.
My sister Royce and I would love to see any pictures you have of the two ladies and after we go through all the family photos I will share in return.
My email is bethsinger3131@gmail.com

I first met Carol when she was married to fellow plastic surgeon Ray Betson and as fellow New Yorkers formed an instant bond. While we saw each other infrequently over the years, it was always as if we saw each other daily and our conversations and memories picked up where they had left off. Sometimes it was in the most unlikely places such as synagogue in Hong Kong over High Holy Days when she and Hank were living there. Carol was always so bubbly, happy and gregarious and excited to see you. She truly lit up a room. She was always engaged in interesting and exciting projects, studies, education . I didn’t know that she was ill and cannot believe that she’s gone. We’ve lost a very special woman. My heartfelt condolences to Hank, Jennifer, and the entire family. May her memory be for a blessing.

To Henry and Family: John and I met Henry and Carol at Henry's and John's High School Reunion in Atlantic City NJ 2008. From that point onward we became real good friends emailing frequently. We had so many online laughs. Via Henry, her ever loving husband and the Caring Bridge website, that they we were able to stay in touch and offer encouraging words to them. Carol was one of the most courageous warrior I've interacted with while undergoing this type of medical battle. Families at times like this can reflect on the gifts from those we loved that they leave us in the form of memories, that no one can take away.Wisdom that we still can recall. Those are the gifts to cherish forever. Carol,no doubt left many gifts of love and parts of the vast amount of wisdom she gained in her lifetime. May the family continue to cherish those memories. Prayers and virtual hugs from John and Peggy Land Owings Mills Md.
