Obituary of Stephen Moyski

STEPHEN MAREK MOYSKI Born May 3, 1965 in Denver. Died March 19, 2012. Sur­vived by his wife of 14 years, Beth Cutler Moyski and their son, Oliver, age 12. Also survived by his parents John and Betty Ann Moyski; Brother Carl Moyski, his wife Cathy and their daughters, Morgan, McKenna and the Cutler family. Stephen attended St. Louis Elementary and Mullen High School where he was a member of the Speech and Debate Team that participated in national competitions. He graduated from Stanford University with distinction in 1987 and began a 15-year career with Trammell Crow Company as a Financial Analyst. Later he was credited with outstanding performances as the local CFO, and as a Partner. His last five years he served as Se­nior Managing Director, overseeing the firm's commercial development in Colorado. Then he joined Cherokee In­vestments to oversee the Gates Rubber Co. project. He was instrumental in forging an agreement between the city, the community and the owners. The rezoning and re-development of this critical land will create a Denver landmark. Stephen returned to Trammell Crow for one year to head a national industrial land fund; then joined Corporex as President of the Colorado region. There he participated in numerous developments and acquisitions including the joint-venture that developed the Museum Lofts adjacent to the Denver Art Museum. In January, 2006 he and partner Garrett Baum started Urban Fron­tier to pursue acquisitions and developments such as the Green Gables Country Club redevelopment, Children's Hospital Northern Ambulatory Center, redevelopment of Flatirons Theatre in Boulder, and numerous other sites. Moyski was a former president of National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, the 2009-10 Chair of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Young Presidents Organiza­tion, and was active in Urban Land Institute, the Colo­rado Starlight Children's Foundation, Colorado Business Community for the Arts, and other charities. He was an avid skier, hiker and mountain climber; a gourmet cook; and was passionate about his family and friends.
