Obituary of Rose Spiegleman
Rose M. Spiegleman passed away on December 24, 2010 after a long illness. She was 74. She is survived by her husband, Don, her children, John (Jill) Spiegleman, Julie (Mike Shomo) Spiegleman, grandchildren, Taite Shomo, Devon Shomo, Quinn Shomo, Sam Spiegleman and Sophia Spiegleman. She is also survived by her brothers, Rick (Judy) Sponaugle, Frank Sponaugle and Ken (Barbara) Sponaugle, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Rose was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Cincinnati Childrenâs Hospital Nursing School. She was a practicing RN for over 6 years during which time she worked in the Denver VA Hospital and was part of a group that opened a psychiatric VA hospital in Palo Alto, California.  Thereafter, Rose did volunteer work for many organizations, including establishing a prenatal clinic at Rose Hospital and teaching preschool at Congregation Emanuel. She eventually became a Broker Associate specializing in residential housing and was affiliated with several companies; most recently, Rose was affiliated with Fuller Sothebyâs International Realty. Rose was active in numerous charitable organizations, including serving on the Board of Girls, Inc. She was also very active with the local and national Democractic Party and with Emilyâs List. Service, Wednesday, 2.30pm, Temple Emanuel, 51 Grape St. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Roseâs memory be sent to one of the following organizations: Kunsberg School at National Jewish Hospital (1400 Jackson Street, Denver 80206), Girls Inc. of Metro Denver (1499 Julian Street, Denver 80204) or Heifer International (heifer.org).
