My Grandma, WOW!, Where to begin, it would take the rest of my lifetime to try and put all the wonderful memories I have into words.
She was a lady who was well loved and respected in every community she ever resided in. She was not only a character but she HAD character.
When I was young I could not wait for summer to come so that I could spend them with her out on the farm. She taught me how to work hard and take pride in everything, but at the same time how to do it with Fun & Flare.
She taught me how to make my first apple pie from scratch and that was only the beginning.
As you can imagine growing up my brothers and I were no angels, especially my brothers. But grandma had the patience of a saint. Which is why at an early age, my brothers and I learned that the last thing we ever wanted to do was disappoint the ones we loved and the ones who loved you, and grandma was one of those people.
She taught us to straighten up & fly right, as she would say. She believed a persons character was defined in their words. She would say " Say what you Mean & Mean what you Say" A quality I try to incorporate into my everyday life..
Here is another thing you may not be aware of, the fact that my Grandma is the SKIP BO QUEEN, she loved playing that card game and was always up for a friendly challenge. But if you had any designs on cheating, well, you had better think twice because she would have none of that. She enjoyed winning FAIR & SQUARE so she could giggle that little giggle of hers and if you were lucky you could even catch a glimpse of her doing the dippsey doodle all the while flashing a winning smile (PRICELESS) just like my Grandma, MY BEST FRIEND FOREVER!
Love Always,
Naree Culver
