Obituary of Arlene Wimmer

Arlene Ruth "Tuton" LaTender Wimmer of Colorado Springs, CO formerly of Neopit, WI; was called home May 8, 2013. Loving wife of the late Leon John Wimmer; Daughter of the late Elizabeth "Lizzy" LaTender; Mother of Ashley Wimmer Mohawk, Elizabeth R. Wimmer and Brooke (Richard) Tall Bull; Grandmother of Clay P. Lucero Jr, Arlene Elizabeth Tall Bull and Drue Leon Wimmer; Sister of Leonard "Cheeky" (Janis) LaTender, Connie Waupoose, Joan Waukau, Guy Grignon, Sharon Waupoose, Dr. Jerilyn Grignon, Robert J. (Arlene) Grignon, Dana Grignon, Mary Clare Grignon the late Carol Warrington, Michele Grignon, Stanley Grignon, James Grignon and Jerome Leo Grignon; Loving cousin of Mayone (Carol) LaTender, Marie "Honey" LaTender and Celestine Denny; Auntie to many nieces and nephews and a friend to all. Arlene's caring spirit and great sense of humor, her gentle and supportive ways, and her strong faith will always be remembered by so many that loved her dearly. While she had many talents and activities and was also dedicated to her career, her most important commitment was always to her family. She grew up in Neopit, WI and later moved to Denver, CO where she met and married the love of her life Leo. They lived an amazing and exciting life together traveling the world while being stationed at various Army Posts. She worked as an alcohol counselor in service for others for over 30 years before retiring from Pikes Peak Mental Health. Arlene and Leo were avid hunters and loved the outdoors. A Memorial Service in honor of her life was held May 13, 2013 at St Dominic Catholic Church in Security, CO. Arlene and Leo were layed to rest May 17, 2013 at St. Anthony Cemetery in Neopit, WI. Contributions in her name to St. Labre Indian School Educational Association, PO Box 216, Ashland, MT 59003-0216. The family was assisted by Feldman Mortuary, Denver, CO.
