Obituary of Reid Michael LEVIN

Reid Michael Levin was born in Denver, Colorado July 28, 1983 and passed away on August 25, 2015 after a seven-and-a-half year battle with leukemia. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 2001 and received his BFA in theater and English with honors from Pace University in New York City in 2005. Reid was a talented and prolific performer and writer. He formed and led Better Than The Machine, a sketch comedy group based in New York City. Reid continued to make comedy videos for some time after his initial cancer diagnosis and wrote extensively about his difficult journey Reid was a kind, talented, funny child who turned into a kind, talented, funny, brilliant and courageous man. He believed that all people are b’tzelem Elohim, made in the image of the Almighty, and treated everyone he met with kindness and respect. Reid loved his family and friends deeply and openly. Reid’s family is indebted to the many, many dedicated people who cared for him at Children’s Hospital Colorado and University of Colorado Hospital. Reid is survived by his adoring parents, Scott and Laure Levin; beloved sisters Rachel and Rebecca Levin; grandparents H.J. and Shirlee Glass; aunts and uncles David Glass (Pensacola, FL), Stacie and Gary Harding, Cindy Levin, Dan Levin and Kadra Knudson, Neal Levin, and Lise and Richard Seedroff. He leaves behind cousins Adam, Amy, Noa Bell, Levi and Lily Lynn Blann (Las Vegas, NV); Brad, Mandy and Mara Reid Blann (Austin, TX); Jeffrey Evans (Manteca, CA); Kerri Evans (Washington, D.C.); Lauren Glass (Atlanta, GA); Jordan Levin (Jerusalem, Israel); Gabriel and Miles Levin; and, Kristina and Ivan Martinez (Tampa, FL). Reid was predeceased by grandparents Mel and Maxine Levin, aunt Patricia Glass and cousin Victoria Glass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Reid’s memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society www.lls.org
