We arre so sorry to hear the news of Sheila's sudden passing. We are unable to come to the service this afternoon but want to share our condolences to Rick and the family. Sheila is most remembered by me for her support of Children's Hospital and the CU School of Medicine during the early years of our affiliation. She was fabulous as Board chair and Board member for years, and leaves a legacy for the children of this region that is wonderful. We wish you well.

Hard to put into words Sheila’s impact on our lives and the community as a whole. We will miss her tremendously – her sense of humor, her passion for serving the community and her generous nature. It seems like her time here was short but apparently, her work here was done – she’s on to bigger things. She will always be remembered and cherished.

Our hearts and blessings go out to Shiela's family. We are heartbroken over the loss of a heroine to all the community. She had the vision and heart to advance the Hispanic community through the support and sincere love for our community with the start and growth of the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado. We love her and will always be grateful that God gave her to us for this short time.

I am so saddened by the loss of your wife and mother....I loved Sheila; I have known her since I was 16 when I used to babysit Michael and Bradley. We have spoken over the years and have celebrated a few holidays at my brother's and sister-in-law's house, David & Vicki Dansky. My heart goes out to you all. I just lost my mother so I know the feeling. May beautiful Sheila rest in peace, and my love to you all.

I met and worked with Sheila while I worked at Children's Hospital and she was Chairman of the board. No one in my life has made such a difference in how I live and I how I treat those with whom I work. I am quite confident, I wasn't the only person who was impacted by her friendship and mentorship. Her quick dose of humor in the toughest of situations certainly didn't hurt either. This is quite an unexpected shock and a sad day for all of us I'm afraid. I'm so thankful that I knew Sheila. Xox

In this sacred time of thanksgiving for light that dispels darkness and brings hope for new beginnings, it is hard knowing we must say goodbye to one who has brought warmth to us all. It was a privilege, honor, and joy to work with Sheila at RCF. Even now the memory of her smile and eager eyes touches my heart. Always a professional, she taught by example how to respect each and every person and look for the best in them. My wife, Rachel, and I will miss seeing Sheila at gatherings of the Colorado nonprofit community. May peace come to all who loved and were loved by Sheila Bugdanowitz.

Together with the rest of the community FRIENDS FIRST mourns the loss of Sheila Bugdanowitz. As a nonprofit leader, I have received so many words of encouragement from her. I have seen her speak and be honored time and time again. She was innovative in her giving, loving to all and really wanted everyone to thrive in Colorado regardless to race, creed, gender, sexual orientation or religion. She also loved her dog so much!! We sometimes went back and forwards on our post about our love for our dogs. Colorado is shedding many tears today. Much love and support to her family. I find it fitting that her life will be celebrated on Colorado Gives Day because she herself gave so much to many causes. RIP our Angel!

On behalf of the board and staff of Community First Foundation, please accept our condolences for your loss. The world is a smaller place without Sheila. Sheila was such an incredible woman in all the roles she played, and her loss in all of these is incalculable - family member, friend, volunteer, successful business person and community leader. She took over the professional leadership of the Rose Community Foundation and enhanced its stature in this area with its array of grants for community support. Sheila was always a lovely person to work with and just to know, always making herself available, and retaining her great sense of humor, her warm smile and ease with everyone she met. When she walked into a room, the room sparkled. We will miss her so much. While there are no words to adequately describe her loss, we hope the good memories and the good works she leaves behind will be of comfort now and through the years. Our deepest condolences to Rick and to the entire family of mourners. Jan and Shelly Steinhauser

Dear Rick, Carol, Michael, Brad, Karine, Charlotte and David:
The Califromia Lustig's send our condolences to you all during this time of immense sadness and loss. This is such a huge tragedy for all of you and for the Denver community.
What an amazing woman Sheila was. The last time I talked with her, Auntie Esther was in hospice. Sheila was so there for Auntie at that moment and she was truly a source of strength for everyone who knew her. Her laugh was contageous and she was among the most gracious and giving of people I have known.
While we won't be able to attend the funeral, we want you to know how much we are with you during this time of mourning.
With much love,

I have known Sheila for so many years and she was always warm, welcoming and wonderful! She offered work advice along with life advice, like how to deal with aging hair :) Sheila always had a moment and genuinely listened and cared. We shared many stories over the years, including the one when her dear husband's store was robbed. It's a long story, but that fit into my world and offered yet another opportunity for her to provide me good advice. I can't believe I won't see her again. I am so sad this morning.
