Obituary of Gerald Morton Goodman
Gerald (Jerry) Morton Goodman, 89, passed away October 26 at his home in Sun City West, AZ. He was born December 27, 1927, in Denver Colorado to Lee and Edith Goodman. He was the youngest of four children.
After graduating from North High School in Denver he enlisted in the Navy. Upon his discharge he returned to Denver and worked in the grocery and restaurant business. In 1955 he moved to Greeley. He owned and operated two fine dining restaurants, The Driftwood Lounge and Ye Greeley Village Inn. Then in 1973 he started a new security business which was to become DictoGuard Security Alarm Systems.
He retired in 1993 and moved to Sun City West, AZ where he enjoyed his time working on the house and yard, golfing, volunteering, and socializing with friends.
He was very active in his Jewish community both in Colorado where he served as president for many years at Beth Israel Congregation and in Arizona at Temple Beth Shalom where he volunteered his time on numerous projects and committees.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 61 years, Elizabeth; along with three children, Julie (Mark) Slack of Castle Rock, Jeff
(Ruth) Goodman of Windsor, and Babe (Zvi) Goodman of Greeley; and seven grandchildren, Joseph Moya, Abby Jacobs, Gabe Goodman, Ben Goodman, Tali Bitton, Ori Bitton, and Zac Bitton along with many other loving nieces, nephews, and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Ruth Zisman, Symie Goldstein, and Elaine Levine.
Chapel services will be held on October 31 at 1 PM at Feldman's Mortuary, 1673 York Street, Denver, CO followed by Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6841 E 62 Ave, Commerce City, CO.
