Obituary of Eugene Pepper
Eugene was born in Pueblo, CO on July 7, 1934 to Jake and Dora Pepper. He had two sisters, Ruby and Bernice, all of whom preceded him in death.
Gene excelled at academics, graduating from Pueblo Centennial High School after being voted “the smartest student” by his classmates, the university of Colorado in Boulder with a B.A. in History, and the C.U. School of Law with a J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree. He was a member of the distinguished Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. He served as Airman in the United States Air National Guard part-time for six years while simultaneously gaining much courtroom experience employed in the Denver City Attorney’s Office and the Denver District Attorney’s Office. Gene began his private law practice in Denver in 1965, where he worked very hard and attained much success for the next 35 years.
Watching football, reading and discussing world affairs were some of Gene’s favorite pastimes. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie and former wife, Bobbie, daughter, Marni and son-in-law, Mike, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Gene will be remembered by all who knew and loved him for his intelligence, sense of humor and loving kindness. Funeral services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6841 E. 62nd Ave., Commerce City, CO on January 19, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eugene’s memory to the VeraCare Hospice of South Denver, 6551 S.
