Marlene was a good friend in Delta Kappa Gamma. We traveled together with Sue Denny to international conventions and southwest regional conferences. We served as officers in DKG during six years from 2003-2009, sharing many memories. Everyone remembers Marlene's contagious laugh. You could't help laughing along with her and that kept things much fun. I will miss my friend and I'm so sorry she had such a struggle during her last few months. She was a 'trooper,' never letting a difficult situation get the best of her. She battled valiantly. To Lee, Richard, and Monica and her beloved granddaughter, Victoria, you were blessed (as was I) to have Marlene in your lives. My love and condolences, Kathy Flynn, Longmont, CO.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your dear, loved one. Death is hard to deal with. Even Jesus gave way to tears when Lazarus died (John 11:35). But our Heavenly Father views death as an enemy and promises to put an end to it (1 Cor 15:26). We can look forward to being reunited with our loved ones again.

I am sorry that such a loving, caring person has passed away. I always admired Marlene's devotion and love of family and friends. I was inspired, too, by her dedication to teaching that we shared. She loved life and was always up for an adventure. I take comfort knowing she is at peace and not in pain. Marlene's impact on family and friends lives on.

I'm saddened by the death of my dear cousin, Marlene. She brought joy to all who knew her. I admired her zest for life and was comforted by her at the time of my parents' deaths. I am reminded that people die, but love doesn't. May her memory bring comfort to those who share her loss.
