Obituary of Ernest Hagler

Ernest Hagler, born and raised in Denver, passed away on July 29, just short of his 97th birthday. The eldest son of Morris & Augusta Hagler, Ernie was a proud graduate of East High School and the University of Colorado, where he majored in chemistry and lettered in tennis, having learned to play on the City Park courts. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Greatest Generation in both word and deed. Married to his sweetheart Norma (Mathless) for close to 60 years until her passing, he was the beloved head of a growing family, the successful president of American Canvas Company and Denver Tent Company, and a lifelong learner and tinkerer. He was deeply devoted to all his family, including his middle brother Stan, who preceded him in death. Ernest is survived by his youngest brother Louis, his three children, Jim (Vivien), Robin (Neil Kramer) and David (Vilma), his grandchildren, Max (Elin), Benjamin Kramer (Sarah), Ari (Elana), Daniel Kramer, Leah (Joe Klocek), and Gabriel Kramer (Giulia), his great grandchildren Noah, June, Asher, Dina, Nathan and Nadia, along with many nieces, nephews and their families. Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, August 1, at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, 11701 E 13th Ave, Aurora. Contributions may be made to the Legal Aid Foundation (https://www.legalaidfoundation.org/) or to a charity of you choice.
