The East High School alumni group met today, Wednesday the 26th, at the Lakewood Country Club and Art's passing of last Friday was announced to those assembled. Tom Carey who used to pick me up on Steele , and then Art, before heading to the East High lunches in Lakewood, told me on the phone Tuesday evening. Since Molly and I moved to Longmont in 2014, we no longer get the Denver Post, so did not see the obituary until I looked it up on the Feldman web site.
Tom, Art and I would always sit together the the East lunches. Tom was there today, but Art (God love him) was absent and it was indeed felt. Phil Goodstein spoke today about Park Hill--another fascinating talk. Tom went to Smiley Jr. High and I suppose Art did was well--but maybe it was Gove. Anyway, East was our common home for at least two years since Art was '50 and Tom and I were "51.
Hadn't known Art was in the Army between college and law school at Harvard. Same with me, only Princeton and DU Law School (sometimes referred to as Tramway Tech--when I attended it was across the street from the City and County Building).
Molly and I send you and your family our condolences.
