Obituary of Burton Mannis

Burton R. Mannis, 86, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Shaker Heights, OH, beloved husband of Barbara (Weinman) Mannis, loving father of Michael Mannis of Chicago, Judy (Charlie) Goldberg of Atlanta, and Susie Sigman of Denver. Devoted grandfather of Bobby and Blair Mannis, Matthew, Cody, Jessie, and Josh Mann, and Scott and Samuel Sigman. Fond brother-in-law of Joan Weinman and dear uncle of Jennie (Ralph) Rossini and great uncle of Ryan Rossini. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Theresa Mannis. Burt’s years were filled with a deep love of his family and the adoration was mutual. He loved to tell jokes and stories and he took great pleasure in making people laugh. Tennis and golf were great pleasures for him, as well as a love for movies and cable news programs, travel, and just being at home with Barb. He had a plate that said, “What I love about my home is who I share it with.” He attended Cleveland Heights High School, The Ohio State University, and Western Reserve. Several positions followed but he settled on a successful career in life insurance and investment sales. Burt called himself and wants to be remembered as “Mr. Nice Guy.” His family and friends know that the name fits; he lived each day with more caring for others than for himself. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 7th, 2 p.m., Temple Emanuel - Feiner Chapel. Private burial at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
