Obituary of James F. Silar
James "Jim" Silar was born in York, Pennsylvania on November 18, 1928. He was the youngest of the six children of Effie and Francis Silar. Upon graduation from high school in 1946, he enlisted in the Marine Corp and served post World War II and during the Korean War.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joan Silar, his four children, Debi Psota, Jacki Silar, Tim Silar and Jodi Silar, ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three step children, Mark Wright, Amy Wright, and Nancy Wright.
Jim was in the transportation business his entire career and was recognized as an expert in the industry receiving numerous awards for his work in the field. Upon retirement, he moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where he played golf and bridge and did volunteer work. He became a Life Master at bridge which was very important to him.
Jim and Joan lived in Cincinnati and Las Cruces until moving to Denver in 2015. Jim loved live music and loved to dance. Jim will be remembered for his warm smile and outgoing personality. Jim is interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
