My condolences to you all for the loss of your loved one Cheryl.
May these scriptures bring you all a measure of comfort and
hope during this difficult time.
Revelation 21: 3, 4
With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

Cheryl Makovsky was an awesome teacher and an amazing human being. For an awkward and shy teenager, she was truly a role model as to what an adult could be. She was the first teacher that I ever regarded both as a teacher and a real person. I will never forget how she went out her way to reach out to me and try to pull the little introvert out of his shell. The news of her passing truly makes my heart heavy.

I will always remember Ms. Makovsky as our kind sponsor of National Honor Society at Arapahoe High School (I was Class of 1998). She gently encouraged me to run for president of NHS, when I would never have considered it otherwise. She was so sweet and kind. Condolences to her family for your loss.

Cheryl was one of my most beloved teachers at AHS. I was going through some old papers recently and found an English Lit. paper Mrs. Makovsky had written some thoughts on. She was lovely, and passionate about teaching, empathic and someone I respected so much. My deepest condolences to her wonderful family...

I’m saddened today to learn of Ms. Makovsky’s passing. She was my first English teacher at AHS in 1977. It was a mythology class that I still talk about today to my kids. She was an exceptional teacher and equally as important, a wonderful, generous and caring human being. I enjoyed as many classes with her as I could. Her family will be lifted up in my prayers. An incredible woman, gone home to be with our Father. A life well lived with a wonderful legacy. Thank you Ms. Makovsky!
