Obituary of Kenneth Elias
Kenneth Elias of Parker, CO died peacefully on May 30, 2019, in Lone Tree, CO. Ken was born in Brooklyn, NY, April 24, 1934, to Morris and Alice Elias (nee Eisner). Ken served in the Army from 1955-1957 in Ft. Kobbe, Panama, as 1st cook. He continued serving his country in the Air Force Reserves when he returned stateside and joined the NYPD as a Police Officer and Detective for 20 years in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Far Rockaway, NY. He married Leah Nassberg Elias in 1960 They were married for 28 years had three children. He raised his family in New York, New Mexico and Colorado. He lived in Florida for 25 years before returning to Colorado in 2013. Ken enjoyed going to the movies and spending time with his family. He was always telling a joke and lightened the mood with his one-liners. He loved animals, especially dogs. He is survived by his children: Stephen (Sarah) Elias of Parker, CO; Gary Elias of Phoenix, AZ; and Miriam (Lev) Lawrence, of Denver, CO. He is the grandfather of Elizabeth Elias and Raphael, Jonah, and Eliana Lawrence. He is also the step-grandfather of Hadassah and Yshurun Ayly.
Graveside service was Friday, May 31st, at 2:00 p.m., Rose Hill Cemetery, with Rabbi Avraham Mintz officiating. Contributions can be directed to Chabad of Southeast Denver or Chabad of Colorado.
