Dear Andrew and Justin,
I am stunned and so very sorry to hear about the passing of your dear Mom, Elaine. Your mom and I had just re-connected in the past 2 years and to be honest, I was still struggling with hearing the news of your Dad's passing. We knew both of them through Voice-Tel in fact, I have been to your house in Phoenix when you both were probably in junior high! I thought the world of both of them and so did my husband, Warren Carter, who they actually met prior to meeting me! We had some great visits with them and when Warren and I got married, your Mom actually caught the bouquet at the traditional toss (instead of single women, I had married women come out on the floor!). We had our wedding in Ohio, which they came to, and a reception in Sonoma County, California which they also attended....I guess they were so happy to see us married that they flew out and honored us at both events! I loved them individually, and I loved them as a couple. They were 2 very special people and I will treasure our times together. These last 2 years corresponding with your Mom taught me a lot; she was a true conservative warrior and her blogs and messages were insightful and spot-on in so many ways. She is missed now, and will continue to be missed just as your Dad is. I like to think they're together and sharing a knowing smile at all the silliness of this life! Both of you and the rest of the Sandler family have our sincere condolences. She was quite a woman who has left a mark in so many ways. My life is better for having known her.
