I never win raffles. Ever. Sometimes I think I never win raffles because I’ve already won the biggest raffle of all.
15 years ago with a little luck and a little help from above, I won the FAMILY RAFFLE. I won the greatest father, brother, aunt, uncle, and grandparents anyone could ever dream of. You welcomed me as one of your own and proved that families are built on love, not DNA. Before this I didn’t know what unconditional love felt like, what uncontrollable family laughter sounded like, or what kugel tasted like (all thanks to Mamo). I’m constantly aware of the “what ifs” and I am constantly reminding myself how lucky I am. I don’t know where I’d be right now without any of you and that’s insanely scary to think about.
Mamo,
You are the sweetest, strongest, feistiest, and selfless women I’ve ever met. Your smile is contagious and fills an entire room. There is no one who could ever compare to you nor will there ever be. I mean let’s face it you’re the only one who can get my dad to play nice with others- and that’s hard to do! My favorite part of you will stay with me forever:
“Honey, don’t wish your life away.” -Mamo
Life is a gift. I love you Mamo... I love you so so so much!
