Ardie was my Bar Mitzvah tutor. He was calm, knowledgable, kind and helpful. I ran across him years later and he was the same kind of guy. I will always have a good feeling in my mind when I hear his name or think of him.

Ardie was my cousin, my first Hebrew School teacher, a co-worker at the printing plant for many years, and my mentor.
But most of all he was a friend to me. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ardie always told us....like he did with thousands of parents over those long 10 months of prep.....your son is going to make it, he will be fine and ready. And he was! 5 years later on my son's Birthright tour, Rabbi Lev from Houston (the chosen escort for this 2 week track of kids) asked those in the group...who wanted to put on tefillin and recite hebrew while walking in the desert, from the Exodus portion of the Torah? My son volunteered, internally worried that his hebrew skills might fail him...yet once he got started, all of Ardie's teachings came back to him and he got through the reading just fine. He said he felt proud to be able to do this...especially for a reform Jew. He will be 30 in a few months, and we both stopped to remember today about his time with Ardie, "the legend." No greater heart, soul and lifelong commitment to the youth of Colorado, and to managing their parents' expectations can or will be found in Denver - for decades to come! With LOVE & RESPECT to: Charlene - Rayna - Stephen and the entire Wandel/Gensberg family.

The Bernstein family will carry Ardie in out hearts forever. He not only taught our 4 boys what it meant to be a Bar Mitzvah. He also taught them the understanding and responsibilities of being a mindful Jew. Through his love of his religion, his sense of duty he was able to share this love with the children he taught. With Ardie's guidence our sons were able to overcome their learning challenges and learned their Torah, HafTorah, the service and what was involved in writing a good speech. These are all life skills that they have taken into adult hood with them. Ardie continues to live within them and will always be a part of our family and the future of our family.

Ardie, I will miss you so much. I feel so blessed to have known you for so many years and that you were able to tutor the eight of us over a 52 year span. You enriched all of our lives and no one was better than you at relating to kids and getting them to reach their full potential. Ardie, you were the best. Steve Kaufman

You were my Bar Mitzvah teacher and we went through a lot together, you told me I was one of your biggest challenges throughout your lengthy career, and you hope we both made it through to the big day!!!
My Bar Mitzvah was a complete success, my family and friends still to this day talk about how well I did with my VERY LONG Torah portion.
Thank you my friend and teacher
