My heart breaks to hear of Robert's death. I only came across this page while searching on the web to get in touch with him.
We were together in CU Denver during our PhD program in 2013. I spent a lot of time together with him walking the campus roads, sharing stories, walking to his apartment. But I dropped out in 2015, and got busy in life, and moved to Michigan. Recently, I felt like contacting him and came across this news.
I am broken right now to realize this has happened a year ago. We shared too many stories and were very close.
My heart-felt condolences to his mother, father, sister and his closest family and friends.
I would like to contact the family somehow and reach out, but have no way of finding out.
If his family reads this, my email is neelvaidya461@gmail.com.
Yours sincerely,
Neel Vaidya

I'm very sorry to hear about Rob's death. My condolences to his Mother, Father, Sister and extended family and friends. I knew Rob for the past year or so and always looked forward to seeing him. He a kind person with an earnestly quirky sense of humor. He was always excited to tell me about a new podcast or movie. Last fall we spoke for a while about things that were happening in our lives and common experiences we shared. He showed me the Columbia Teachers library where he had been studying for finals. It was his favorite spot to study because it was so quiet and emptier than the other libraries on campus.
One of the last time I saw Rob, we met up at Duane Reade right before the pandemic was starting in late February and we bought the last 2 bottles of hand sanitizer in the store. It was interesting hearing about the pandemic from his perspective as someone with an extensive knowledge of epidemiology. He will be missed by all and live on in our memories.

Arlene, Mike, Jen. I was heartbroken in hearing of Rob's passing, and wanted to send my most sincere condolences. My memories of our childhood go back to your place at Drummond. From basement sleepovers, to skateboarding down the hill, and of course getting trouble at Schechter. Though we lost touch when you moved to CA, I will always cherish my middle school years and experiences shared with Rob. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Arlene, Mike, Jen, and the rest of Robert's family,
I'm heartbroken to hear of Robert's passing. He was hilarious, energetic, goofy, athletic, brave, considerate, creative, wildly intelligent, and wise beyond his years. Simply a pleasure to be around and to learn from. Even as a young teenager, he had perspective on various elements of life that he would share with me, that would never have occurred to me, and that have served me well to this day.
We quickly became best friends as soon as he got to SSDS in West Orange, NJ, and we remained inseparable over the next few years in school, on weekends, and over the summers at Ramah Berkshires, Ramah Ojai, and a cross country adventure through British Columbia. To say he exerted a positive influence on me during some very formative years would be an understatement.
I was always grateful to both you, Arlene and Mike, and to my parents, for keeping us together over the summers (before your move to Palo Alto), as memories forged with him during those times remain some of my most valued.
While we unfortunately lost touch after the west coast move, I have thought about Robert multiple times every year for the past 20+ years, and knew without a doubt that he was making the world a better place, because someone of his nature wouldn't be able to help but do so. I've missed him for a long time, and will continue to miss him, and remember him.
I am so sorry for your loss, and I hope that you're able to find some comfort in your wonderful memories of him.
With heartfelt condolences,
Drew Morcheles

I’m so sorry to hear about this. I remember Robert’s first day at SPHDS like it was yesterday. He was wearing a tie dye t-shirt and a peace symbol necklace. I also remember a talent show that year where he lip sync-ed and danced to Rush! He was the sweetest guy and we all loved him right away. Wish I had known he was right here in NYC... sending my heartfelt condolences to you Arlene, Mike and Jennifer. Can’t believe this has happened...

All my love to all of you. How I wish I could reach across the miles and hug you all. The service today was so incredibly honoring of the essence of who he was; you really saw him; and you really helped us all see him too; such beautiful memories of visiting when he was a kid; I remember him being really kind, down to earth, and loving. No words, no wishes, no love could adequately meet the depths of your pain right now; but what I will say is that, as he was loved by all of you; and continues to be; you are all loved by all of us; and we will be there. My deepest condolences. His memory is indeed a blessing. I'm so sorry for the devastation of his loss. Love Nadine

Dear Mike, Arlene, Jen and AJ,
There are no words that can express our profound sadness at Robert's passing. We have watched Robert grow from a young child in Palo Alto to a fine young man with great accomplishments despite some of the hurdles he had to overcome. We cannot imagine the pain you all must be feeling but hope you are comforted with the knowledge that we and all of our friends are with you, albeit virtually. Robert brought light and laughter to each and every gathering we had. We will miss him, for I know our lives are dimmed by his loss. Much love-

Dear Arlene, Mike, Jen, AJ, and Eli,
I am devastated to hear about Rob's passing. I remember the years we shared as close friends and roommates in medical school. I have very fond memories of our time together in Tel Aviv, going to the gym, runs on the beach, enjoying the Israeli nightlife, and, of course, studying and doing rotations together in the hospitals. We enjoyed having deep philosophical conversations about life. Rob was a passionate and caring guy, and I will miss him dearly. I wish I had known that he was living so close in NYC. May God console you among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
