Dear Weiss Family,
Your mom was a dear friend. Both your parents influenced my husband and me as a young couple in Denver. They welcomed us into their lives with open arms. Professionally your mom was both a peer and a mentor to me at VOA. When we moved to Vermont she was a faithful correspondent and continued to be a wonderful friend. Your family has always been an inspiration to ours. She will be missed, but treasured in our memories.
Marilyn was one of the first people I met after moving to Denver in 1985. She immediately took me under her wing as if I was one of her own kids. She helped me become a community servant and always pushed me to help more people. She had us over for dinner on numerous occasions and always found time to have breakfast or lunch with a newbie to Denver. I loved her drive and passion and New York wit. She loved our kids and always wanted to hear Wendy sing, wherever she was performing.
I'm deeply saddened for her transition but I know she is watching out for us from another dimension. She is truly an angel among us.
Big hugs and love to Bonnie, Steven and David! I hope to see you all soon and celebrate your amazing mom!
