Jack, my dad, was always a great public speaker, he never really prepared for them; he would just stand up and speak from his heart. And when he did, his speeches would captivate you, transform you, and leave you wanting more.
It was always soothing to hear him talk; not only when he was giving speeches, but for anything. He had a general calm to his voice that provided comfort, and most of the time reason (he had some moments of crazy too). He always had his own unique point of view.
Jack had a big heart, he just had a very difficult time always showing it. He was afraid to be emotional, open and connected, but he loved everyone in his own unique way. I was no different, and he and I had our own special relationship.
I have so many good memories of spending time with him as a kid. He would teach me how to cook, and we would talk about all sorts of things, from homework questions, to how internal combustion engines worked, to what the future would be like.
While we didn’t get to spend as much time together in person as I would have liked (and I would have had it been every day if I could), we would talk every day, often many times a day; about the silliest of things to the most serious. The frustration of the daily traffic commute, relationships, complex scientific questions, issues at work, building a family; the list is almost endless.
He always had the answers to my questions, even if they weren’t what I wanted to hear. He was my hero and I am lost without him. I miss him so much already, and I miss all the opportunities he would have had to be with his family.
His dad passed away when he was only 34 years old. Many times I asked him if he thought about him, and how he handled it. He would tell me how hard it was for him, how he would think that he saw him around every once in a while, and how he would talk with him in his dreams from time to time. I made him promise me that he wouldn’t leave me so soon, and told him that I wanted him to be around forever. Now I know what he must have gone through. I hope he now finds comfort in being able to be with both his mom and dad again, and I look forward to being able to talk to him in my dreams and the day when I will get to hear his voice once again.

In fond memory of Jack Rein. who was a work colleague of mine at a Chevy dealership in Centennial, CO. He and I were the only Jews working there! He had quite a sense of humor. Sympathies to his family and friends.

What can I say about my Uncle Jack? He was a good man with a big heart. One of the best salespeople to ever walk the planet. The guy had an epic sense of humor. He had the best stories. And, he could cook. While I never got to spend as much time with him as we grew up, I fondly look back on all the fun he let us have as kids. He was, by definition, the coolest uncle. I believe there is some peace knowing he is with my dad and Grandma Frieda somewhere that's much better than it is here. I am sure there is lots of disco music and sharp dressing involved. I will never forget his laugh, his smile and the twinkle in his eye. I don't think I ever got to properly thank him for being at my wedding, but it meant more to me than he ever imagined. I will miss him. May his memory be a blessing.

My deepest sympathies to Michael and family. Michael is my cousin and although I only met Jack at his wedding, it was a fantastic day with wonderful memories. I know how much Michael cared for and loved him. Sending lots of love and light.

I want to extend condolences to your family. I knew Jack and his family (the Reinstein’s were cousins) from day one- we grew up together in St. Louis. We shared many Thanksgivings, Passover’s, birthdays, anniversaries at each other’s homes. We went to school and Hebrew school together. We even walked to Shul together on the high holidays.
This is a picture taken in front of Abraham Lincoln’s home in Springfield, Illinois taken in 1957 or 1958 when our families went together to see his home and where he was buried.
Jack always had a great sense of humor and was a character! He was like Lou Costello! We always got along but unfortunately lost track when he and his brothers moved to Denver.
Good memories and may his memory be a blessing.
Cousin Abe
