Estelle a Beautiful Light of Life
I got to know Estelle very well in high school and grew to love her strong nature, sharp wit, classy style, and her warm caring side. Having been taught to ski by my mom Margaret and spending nearly every winter weekend skiing at Winter Park and Loveland Pass, I was a skiing fanatic. Estelle, knowing this, invited my sister Karen and I up to her and Burt’s condo in Vail. What a treat… getting to stay at a luxury condo in Vail, one of the premier Colorado ski resorts. Who could pass that up? I had worked at Stores Equipment and had gotten to know Burt well, but I hadn’t gotten to know Estelle that well. Funny thing about being snowed in on cold winter nights you get to sit around the fireplace and chat about things. About life’s current ups and downs, the past and the road ahead. That is where Estelle and I got to spend meaningful time together and formed a lifelong bond, which I always felt special about. I was to return to Vail countless times, frequently staying at the condo and valued the time I got to spend with Estelle, whenever she was there. I will miss my Aunt Estelle greatly, and my heart goes out to my dear cousins Gary and Sharon at this sad time. As the last of the Kaufman siblings to pass, Estelle was a part of the Greatest Generation that had such a powerful effect on all of us “Kids” … Not so much “Kids” any more… as time and the cycle of life carries on.
