Stan was much more than just my dentist, he was my true and loyal friend. I first met him in 1971, when I moved to Colorado as a VISTA volunteer lawyer, earning a total of $173 per month. I developed a very painful abscess in my front tooth, and knew nobody in Denver to help or guide me. I opened the Yellow pages and looked up Dentists, and saw one who practiced at 3838 W, 38th Ave. which I took that as a sign, and made a same-day appointment. I had no insurance and a bank account that was near zero. He asked what I could pay and I told him perhaps $5.00 per month. Without skipping a beat, he accepted, and I remained his patient until the day he retired (literally, I was his last patient). After that we went out to lunch on several occasions and had wonderful conversations and corny jokes. I can honestly say that he was one of the most influential persons I have known, and I will miss him. Tom Ensor
