We send all of the Cohens our condolences. How bittersweet that the two brothers departed this world so close together. It's as if one could not imagine being here without the other. Phillip was my orthodontist about a century ago. I remember his as someone who was kind and gentle. My father, Nate, was a huge Harold Cohen fan. He made sure to only go to the bank when he knew Harold was around. He loved sharing a joke with him, but mostly he loved that Harold was a man of real integrity. I have had the honor of growing up with Marla and I even got a few good years with Elisa and Basha. What I know about these women is that their fathers raised them to be the independent, smart, witty, brilliant, giving women they all grew up to become. A friend of mine once said, "Boys have boys but men have girls." Certainly, these two men knew what they were doing as they raised so many lovely, smart, women. Their memories will live on through all of their children. They were so proud of their children and grandchildren and they were men who knew how to give back to their communities. May their memories always be for a blessing. Sending thoughts, hugs and love, Edna, Marty, Max and Adam Westerman
