Obituary of Morton Jerome Kraut
Morton “Noinie” Kraut, 90, passed away Friday morning after falling and breaking his hip two weeks ago. Noinie was born on March 18, 1931 and raised on the west side of Denver and still maintained friendships with some childhood friends. He graduated from Denver University and became a CPA, working until three years ago. He met Sheila Fine, the love of his life, married in 1956, and they were inseparable. They enjoyed cooking together, dancing, photography, and many other hobbies. Sheila predeceased him in 2001.
Mort had many interests. He loved to bake—pletzel was his specialty. He loved cars, and he collected art of all types. He enjoyed watching the old western movies on TV—his favorite was Hopalong Cassidy. He liked gardening in his backyard. The Broncos were his team and he always watched them play. He dressed impeccably whether it was in western wear or a sweater and signature bowtie.
He will be remembered fondly by his family. Uncle of Bonnie (Jordan) Saliman, Len (Joan Skinner) Goldberg, Terri (Rich) Strauss, Darlene (Alan) Friedman, Wayne (Faye) Gardenswartz, and the late Stephen Goldberg; Brother of the late Mary (Marvin) Goldberg and Ruth (Norman) Gardenswartz; Also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
